GP: Growth Points

Growth Points (GP) are the core metric of the PoG system. They represent a contributor’s measurable impact on the Axynom protocol and determine both their rewards and reputation.

GP is divided into two categories, each with a distinct role in the ecosystem.

Unredeemed GP

Unredeemed GP reflects the contributor’s current, spendable balance. It is the total amount of Growth Points that can be exchanged for rewards, such as AXY tokens, stablecoins, or other ecosystem benefits.

When a contribution is approved, GP is added to the contributor’s unredeemed balance. When the contributor claims rewards, the corresponding amount of unredeemed GP is deducted.

Unredeemed GP behaves like a liquid resource. It gives contributors immediate utility for their efforts, but claiming it does not erase their historical track record.

Key characteristics:

  • Stored on-chain in the PoG and ContributionRegistry contracts

  • Updated after each approved submission and after each reward claim

  • Decreases only when redeemed for rewards

  • Tied to available reward pools and vesting schedules

Lifetime GP

Lifetime GP is a permanent, cumulative measure of all Growth Points a contributor has ever earned. It does not decrease, even if the contributor redeems rewards.

Lifetime GP acts as a form of on-chain reputation. It signals consistent contribution over time, not just recent activity.

This metric will be used to:

  • Qualify contributors for governance rights

  • Track historical activity for contributor tiers

  • Gate access to future Axynom opportunities (e.g. core team roles, grants)

Lifetime GP separates action from speculation. It rewards long-term builders and prevents gaming through rapid earn-and-exit behavior.

Key characteristics:

  • Increases with every approved contribution

  • Never decreases

  • Immutable record linked to contributor’s address

  • Publicly viewable through the ContributionRegistry interface

The separation of GP types allows Axynom to align both short-term incentives and long-term ecosystem health. Contributors are rewarded quickly but also build an identity that cannot be bought, sold, or manipulated.

Without this dual system, the protocol would face the same inflationary pressures and contributor churn seen in earlier blockchain reward models.

GP ensures that growth is recorded, rewarded, and remembered.
